The Wings Around Town project was launched.

Maria Torres

A native of El Salvador, Maria Torres moved to the United States with her family when she was ten years old. She currently works as the health equity coordinator for the Pottawattamie County Public Health Department and believes in the importance of diverse representation and lived experiences. Maria currently lives in Council Bluffs with her family.

Kelly Towne

Kelly was born and raised in Southwest Iowa. Kelly and her family live in Oakland. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with her BA & MBA. Since graduating, she has worked with nonprofits since 2006 and a small business owner since 2007. Kelly enjoys creative outlets and helping others find their inner artist.

Nelcy Vargas

Nelcy Vargas has worked with Catholic Charities Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program for the last eight years. Her innovative work and passion have helped expand the program's services to better serve the Hispanic community in Southwest Iowa. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Stephanie Laubscher-Steele

Stephanie is a marketing and outreach specialist with various industry experience. She specializes in content creation and develops marketing and visual content. Stephanie is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is a member of the All Care DEI Committee and a DEI training facilitator. When not in the community, she is an avid traveler and spends time on DIY projects.

Lisa Lima

Lisa is a multidisciplinary artist and curator who has organized numerous art exhibitions showcasing diverse perspectives. Based in Council Bluffs, she is an outspoken activist advocating for individual freedoms and giving voice to underserved communities. Lisa aims to inspire lasting positive change and create a more inclusive world through provocative yet thoughtful art.
